Overcoming One of My Greatest Fear!

F-false  E-expectations  A-appearing  R-real

Being a person with an extreme fear of heights, doing things that would speak of conquering it is not that easy for me. Ever since I was a kid I really can’t explain the feeling most especially when I am in  high places, it feels like my entire body is under a general anesthesia and its as if my stomach is full of  insects crawling or bottom line the feeling is really unexplainable. But what makes me different is that I really do have the guts to challenge myself to conquer this greatest fear of mine. And one experience that is very fulfilling is when I did try the 400 meters superman zipline at Doce Pares in Busay, Lahug, Cebu City.

overlooking view of the city
It was a 4 day vacation and as usual most of us would really want to spend this time doing fun and relaxing stuffs. For me it wasn’t just full of adventure, fun and relaxing moments but memorable as well for God gave me this opportunity to experience such wonderful moment together with my family and that makes my vacation worthy to be treasured.
It was around 10am in the morning when we departed from JY Square riding a rent a car service of Doce Pares heading for Busay. What amazed me when we reached the place is the overlooking beauty of the city and most especially the fresh air that we can inhale freely. And the second thing that I did notice is the 400 meters zipline that would cross mountains and it makes me feel more excited to try it. And without prolonging our agony, we readily decided to try and to make it more exciting we go for the superman zipline. At first my feeling was still ok for it was overrule by excitement but the moment we went up there in the tower I suddenly felt nervous and honestly I really want to backed out but what gave me the strength is the mentality that if I won’t try it I will surely be unhappy whereas if I will dare to try no matter what will happened and no matter what will I feel at least in the end I can say to myself that I did it!
the above video will explain everything about my zipline experience...

We also did try crossing the hanging bridge that is located at the cliff, although I did made it but honestly I really had a nonstop scream until I reached the other side of it.
perfect view of the hanging bridge

here we go!

we're almost there..

at last after the nonstop  scream..i did made it!

confident on my way back..

That experienced really did help a lot because my confidence to try again another greater adventure boosted. And even though I still have this fear of mine but I’m pretty much sure that it wasn’t that big enough compared before.
I thank God for this wonderful experienced for it was really an answered prayer. I learned to have faith for I know He knows what’s best for me..I also learned to enjoy and appreciate every single details of my life for it will just happen once.

THE UNPLANNED ADVENTURE (A GLIMPSE OF HIS CREATION)

I know most of us believe that if we are going to plan an event long time before its scheduled date, 90% of those plans won’t happen. That is why due to some idiotic solution, me and my 2 close friends try to do this so called “UNPLANNED ADVENTURE” in which we will just allow time and destiny to give us the direction and all we need to do is to ride and enjoy what comes forth, for we also had experienced those feelings of being disappointed due to failures of planning an adventure or pleasure ahead of time.
A glimpse of His creation
It was Labor Day and as usual most of us wants to spend this day for relaxation in order to forget the stress due to the different kind of jobs that each of us had. Me and my two close buddies really didn’t expect that this Labor Day would be as memorable and relaxing like the one that we usually dreamed of, for it was bit impossible because one of my friend named Kaez or Wangda (her idiotic name) is having a hard time meeting different deadlines that she couldn’t possibly give herself a break. That is why me (raja as my idiotic name) and Ate Verna or Faranha (idiotic name only) already accepted the fact that Wangda could not join, but Ate Faranha and I decided that no matter what we must have to have a break and relax in a place where we can really appreciate God’s creation and as usual the choices would be either in the beach or in a mountainous area. Fortunately, somebody suggested a nice place and without any doubt we both decided to go to that area to spend an entire day there. Before leaving I suddenly thought of calling Wangda for the last time and ask her if she could come and fortunately without any second thought she leaved all her unfinished stuffs in the city and did follow us.

The place where we are heading

Pre-adventure pic when Wangda arrived
Upon reaching the place all you can feel is the full appreciation of God’s creation that really does gave us the complete relaxation and happiness. Doing crazy stuffs is expected for we used to spend our time together showing the different side of us. It makes me a fool remembering all those crazy moments like the 10x shots, the excuse me thing as if Wangda owns the house, the yummy lunch, the pictures of the different flowers which I won’t forget when visiting a new place, the trip going home with a package of a driver as well as a tour guide, and most specially the crawling thing which gave us the ultimate laugh of the day.

And at the end of the day lessons and realizations are always there connected in every experienced that we had. For me I realized that there’s no comparable place created by man that could give the same satisfaction, complete happiness and fulfillment than our nature could offer that is why we need to take care of it because it will give us comfort not just physically but emotionally as well. And we also learned from Wangda that work will always be there but every chances and moments that we’ve shared together happened only once so we must treasure it.
For my readers, the place I’ve mentioned above is SINGLI a privately owned resort by Mr. and Mrs. Arsenio D. Abella. It is located in the mountain area 15 minutes away from the proper of San Fernando. Please do visit this place for it is not just affordable but the feeling of being close to nature is incomparable.

Special thanks to the Alforque Family for the free overnight stay at their beautiful home sweet home..Thank You so much and God bless all of you always.

Will I Do or Not Do It?.The Choice is Yours to Make

Life really has a lot of choices in which you need to be brave enough to face all the consequences of the things you’ve chosen whether it could be for your own good or not.

Let me share you this story of mine during my Christmas Vacation at my hometown there in Leyte where I used to spend most of my childhood years. It was one early morning and I enjoyed doing unusual stuffs when suddenly my aunt arrived screaming saying “there’s a Pawikan caught by our neighbor fisherman and they are about to kill it”, without any second thought me and my sister together with my cousins ran to the seashore in order to witness that creature because never in my life did I see an actual Pawikan. Honestly while I was running, I really didn’t even think of saving that creature but instead I was just so excited seeing the real one before it dies.

When we arrived, what we saw is the fisherman sharpening his knife to be used in killing and on the other side is where the Pawikan is placed. My heart was really crushed when I saw the teary eyes of the Pawikan with lots of small bloody wounds in its stomach. On that moment I readily ask the fisherman to let go of the Pawikan but he didn’t say a word. I ask everyone present there to raise their hands for those who don’t want the Pawikan to be killed and luckily almost all raised their hands except for the fisherman and his wife. I knew that it was too hard for them to decide because I can see it in their eyes that they themselves are really hesitant to kill that creature but they are trapped of the fact that they are also in need of money in order to support their 5 kids.

The Pawikan
What’s at the back of my mind is that if the fisherman would really pursue killing the Pawikan, I’d rather pay him any amount that would compensate their needs, and without me even knowing that my sister was also thinking that way. After a few moments, the fisherman hold the Pawikan and carved his son’s name on the shell before he will going to let it go. Thanks God!

Everyone was so happy with his decision and for me he really sets a good example to all of us that despite the needs, he still managed to follow his heart. And I was so enlightened because he told us that we can still earn money in some other way but the life of that creature can’t be replaced once it was gone.

So happy leave..
I know all of us have already experienced a hard to do decision most especially if we can’t benefit from it but mind you, true happiness can only be achieved if we were able to give value to God and His creations. Hope you will always have the wise decision in your life and whatever it takes just trust Him. God bless us all.

Does life really matters?

Daily unexpected experiences really matters a lot whether it could be a big event or small ones because it is already a part of who you are, what you are right now and what you can do to others.

As I was about to enter the entrance of SM City Cebu, there was this man around 40's who whispered me saying, "lupig ko sa babai oh nagsigarilyo man", and when i turned back I saw the girl he meant and what I readily answered to him was that.."ok rana sir oi ky dili man important nila ila life".

Towards Another Challenging Chapter in the Game Called Life

Life is meaningless only if we allow it to be. Each of us has the power to give life meaning, to make our time and our bodies and our words into instruments of love and hope.                                                                                                            - Tom Head
Life was ended evolving so fast that we can't even notice that we are a bit closer to its end but are still longing for its real meaning. I can't barely imagine what me and my sister have gone through in the past, but here we are trying to stand up after thousands of times that we fall and excitingly opens another chapter of our book made by mans only creator and designer and we call Him God.

As of the moment, I am currently working with the present chapter but I'm almost done and already preparing for the next move. Although we have our own plans but we must not forget to submit it all to Him and be willing to fully shift on to God's own plan for us. On the other hand, God designed my sister to have a partner in life and that I was so happy last October 30, 2010 when my sister got married and together with her husband accepted the blessings of God.

My ate and my kuya on their church wedding

She strongly and happily accepted another challenge that ended up her single blessedness and started making colors on her married life.

So fast isn't it? but there is nothing we can do about it but to keep moving on. Don't hesitate to accept His offered hand when you fall and always permit the presence of trouble with a smile that signifies real happiness.

Philippine-Russian Business Forum and Exhibition 2010

As the Philippines and the Russian Federation held its second business forum this year in Cebu City specifically at the Cebu International Convention Center, an exhibition of both countries art and pride was added up that best explains a good relationship between the Philippines and Russia.
The Russian delegates was headed by Hon. Igor Metelsky who is the Vice-Governor of Saint Petersburg and was welcomed by our very own Gov. Gwen Garcia together with Consul Armi Lopez Garcia who is also the president of PRBA and is behind the success of the said event for she aspires to continue what the former president started.

One of the highlight of the event is the unveiling of the bust of Leo Tolstoy which is heartedly given as a gift from the International Academy of Kindness from Russia to the province of Cebu created by the famous Russian artist and sculptor Mr. Gregory Pototsky who also dreamed of bringing the Dandelion or the monument of kindness here in the Philippines.

As a sign of gratitude Gov. Gwen Garcia also gave her gift of appreciation to Mr. Gregory Pototsky. The gift is a fisherman in his boat made out of a shell which represents and gives honor to St. Peter who is an ordinary fisherman and whom St. Petersburg the sister city of Cebu was named after him.

The forum proper opens up exciting issues such as EDUCATION, ENERGY, REAL ESTATE & RETIREMENT FACILITIES and also on the TRADE PROMOTION & DEVELOPMENT of both countries.

Signing of the Memoranda of Understanding by each representative of both countries

The entire 2 day convention was really a success that ended up in a formal closing ceremony and signing of Memoranda of Understanding

Hopefully this wondrous event results to a strong relationship of both countries and let each nation's resources be a key aspect of a stronger union between these two nations and in turn results a contributory factor in its progress.
